Ice ice baby – cold drinks on a hot day

Since we’re in the middle of one mighty heat wave here in Toronto I thought I’d share a few drink ideas that will help you stay cool in this hot, hot heat…

My personal favorite is making your own iced tea. For fresh, but not too sweet taste I’d recommend picking your favorite herbal tea (Raspberry or Tazo Passion are my go-to flavours) and brewing yourself a large pot to chill in the fridge. Then slice up some lemons and add fresh lemon juice (to taste) and then some fresh mint to top it off.

Freeze fruit like raspberries and blueberries in ice cubes – a pretty way to keep your drinks cool!

A more caffinated option is to make your own iced coffee (my husband’s favorite). Take the coffee left over from the morning pot and chill in the fridge. Once it’s cold, add milk and sugar to make your perfect cold cup ‘o joe. Perfect for that hot afternoon!

Stay cool…

Cute! I make iced coffee and tea all the time, but never thought to add frozen fruit – nice idea!
