Yummy Apple Crisp

Nothing says fall like things made with fresh apples.  I recently made an apple crisp for a dinner party dessert.  So simple and sooo delicious.  I tried a recipe from the Joy of Baking and we all loved it.  A few photos of our apple crisp (we’d already take a few bites) and the recipe below (I doubled the recipe because I had a larger pan).  Happy baking!

Filling Ingredients

6 cups of Granny Smith Apples
1/2 cup of lemon juice
3 tablespoons white granulated sugar

Topping Ingredients

1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
1/4 cup of granulated white sugar
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon of salt
6 tablespoons of butter, cut into pieces
1/3 cup of old-fashioned rolled oats

Baking Instructions

Heat the oven to 375 degrees.  Butter oven ready dish and add the filling mixture.  For the topping, mix all ingredients together in a mixer or food processor (or by hand).  When mixed together spread over the apples evenly.  Bake for 40-60 minutes and cool for 30 minutes before serving.
