Finally found something for above our mantle!

We’ve been in our house for almost a year now and since we moved in we’ve had all kinds of things on our mantle.  At first we decorated with flowers and candles for the New Year and since then we’ve had photos, artwork or some times nothing at all….

Ideally we wanted to find the perfect piece of art work but when we still hadn’t found what we were looking for decided to go with the next best thing – a mirror!  We thought this would be an easy task, not so much.  I searched every home decor, department and hardware store for a mirror that fit the space but couldn’t find anything with the right dimensions that looked nice.

Finally, during our cross-border shop last weekend we found it!  The Pearl Luster Mirror from Pier 1(although in a different size than the one in the link).  We picked it because of the light-coloured frame – since we have so much dark wood, it provides a bit more of a contrast.  Photos below of how it looks!  We still need to hang it properly but need to get the proper hardware since it’s super heavy.  What do you think?

I think you should nickname the mirror J-Becks in my honour!

Jennifer – we should name the mirror after you! After all you did give up your seat and squished in the back to make sure we could fit the mirror in the car on the way home!

Greg – here’s lookin’ at you xoxo

Valerie – Now you have to come see it in person!!

  5. I love it. Kind of a Moroccan vibe, which I’m totally feeling!

Thanks Connie – we thought it had a bit of a Morrocan vibe too – reminded us of our honeymoon (we spent some time in Marrakesh).
