Pomanders – perfect décor accent for the holidays

One of the things I love about Christmas are all the fabulous smells.  Baking, sugar, spice…  A great décor accent for the holidays that has the most intoxicating lovely smell is a pomander.  Basically you take an orange and decorate it by pushing dried cloves into it.  It smells like a mix of citrus and spices – fresh and festive.  They can last for ages and are perfect for a holiday centerpiece.  Some great instructions on how to make your own  pomanders can be found in this post from Garden, Home & Party.  I’ve included a few inspiration photos of some great designs as well as the ones I made this weekend.

Enjoy!

and the ones I made……
