The HomeSlice’s New Year’s Resolutions

The New Year brings new goals for our house…or maybe not entirely new!  We’ve been in our first house for a year now.  It has totally flown buy…  We’ve pulled together a list of things we’d like to do our second year – there are a mix of some things we thought we might do this year and some that are new.

Figuring out our nook: We have this little nook off our kitchen that is a walk-out to the backyard.  At first we were going to make it into a breakfast nook but we first couldn’t find the perfect table and THEN we realized that we didn’t really need two eating areas (we always use our dining room).  Now the plan is to add some extra storage with more of a mud room feel. More to come on this in the coming weeks!

Finishing our bedroom:  Although we’ve painted and redone our drawers, the master bedroom still needs some finishing touches.   The list includes:curtains, bedside tables, bedding, lighting, headboard, mirror…  Hoping it will come together early in the New Year.

TV Room:  Almost done here!  We still need to find a TV bench that is nice looking and functional.  Then we’ll tackle some wall décor – maybe a photo wall?

Framing projects – Even after a year our walls are still bare in some spots.  We have some framing projects we’re working on for the library and then we’ll start to look at the rest of the house.

That’s all for now! Stay tuned in 2011 for more on these projects!

  1. I’m sure you’ll get it all accomplished. I knew for the new house I wanted to change up our bedding but was having such a hard time finding something I liked that wasn’t $$$. Scored at HomeSense yesterday, so I’m happy about that. Now I need new beside lamps lol Always something…

Wishing you all good things in 2011!
