Happy first day of Spring! It is freezing out but sunny – so not entirely Spring-like… One thing that always gets me excited for warmer weather is the Spring One of a Kind Show. I’m super excited to check out the new Etsy section at the show this spring. The show has set-up a curated marketplace of Etsy vendors who will be showcasing their work on-site. If you love Etsy shopping as much as I do then it is definitely something to check out.
I also have 10 pairs of tickets to give away!
To win tickets leave a comment below and tell me what you’re looking forward to this Spring. Contest begins now and closes Monday, March 25 at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be randomly selected and announced on March 26.
You can check out more information about the show here or to follow the conversation on Twitter using these hashtags #OOAKS13 #MadeHere.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Here’s a quick DIY I’ve been working on today. I had a bunch of decorative tape that I’ve been dying to use so I decided to cover a couple of glass jars to make some votives. Taping with cute tape is seriously addictive. I could have made about ten of these…but I stuck with three. Enjoy!
I saw this great hostess gift idea on Pinterest and couldn’t wait to give it a try. What I love about this project is that it is quick, affordable and super cute.
What do you need for this project?
- A four or six pack of bottles and the cardboard carrier
- Spray Paint
- Fresh Flowers
How to make it?
- Clean the bottles and remove any labels
- Spray paint the bottles and let them dry
- Choose a different colour for the cardboard carrier and spray as well
- Add water and some pretty flowers and you’re done!
A simple, quick project that’s great as a gift or even to keep for yourself.
Hello! I’m excited to introduce the Homeslice’s new look today! The redesign of the blog is something that I’ve been working on for the last few months. After a couple of years it was time for some updates – both visually and on the back end.
Although the blog looks brand new, you’ll still find familiar content including décor and entertaining ideas, delish recipes and some of our own projects as we make our house a home.
As always, the blog reflects our real life, so you’ll be seeing more content related to life and kids as we continue our adventure as a family.
I’m super excited about the new look and can’t wait to start sharing some new projects, product round ups and Pinterest Projects over the next few weeks. Hope you enjoy!
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a fabulous holiday! Although I’m not making any specific resolutions to start the year, when I came across Apartment Therapy’s January Cure I thought it was the perfect way to kickstart the year. And who am I kidding, I love plans and getting organized so this might even be fun.
How does it work? You get a daily e-mail for the month of January that will help you whip your home into shape. Each day you get an “assignment” that you complete that helps you along your way. Perfect right? It’s like having a personal organizer/coach. Love.
So far my favorite part has been making a list of all the projects around the house that need to get done. Some are small (buy a new shower caddy) and some are big (re-do our entire breakfast nook). I LOVE lists so this was fun for me. My next favorite “assignment” was on Day 3 – buying some flowers for the house. Cute right?
I’ll keep you updated on how the assignments are going over the next couple weeks. Interested in giving it a try? You can sign up here. The first week is pretty easy so lots of time to catch up! What do you think – will you sign up? Do you have any resolutions for this year?
