Paper Lantern Project

Lately I’ve seen a few blog posts about a fabulous paper lantern project.  Basically the project looks at layering different pieces of paper around a globe to create a lovely overlapping effect with lots of texture.

The first project I saw was on one of my favorite blogs The Happy Home.   This is how her lantern turned out.

You can check out her post on the evolution of the project and her inspiration here.

Then last week Shannon from What’s Up Whimsy shared this Martha Stewart version for her Fete Friday post.

Then a friend of mine sent me a link to the same photo!  It was a sign that I should share this project with a few others.    It seems pretty simple to pull together.  You can get full instructions on how to make yourself on the Martha Stewart site.  I’m tempted to give it a try – now I just need an occasion!! Enjoy!

Thanks so much for the feature Emilija! I have never seen that paper doily one before, so I will be adding that one to my inspiration files. I can’t wait to see how yours turns out!
